Richard Avedon was born in New York, New York into a Jewish Russian family. In 1946, he set up his own studio and started providing images for magizines like Vogue and Life. Soon he became chief photographer for Harper's Bazaar. I like Richard because he didnt stick to the normal type of pictures of the era, which consisted of people with no emotion just staring into the camera. Avedon pictured models smiling, laughing, in motion, and full of emotion.
