Camera Compare and Contrast

Fujifilm FinePix J150w
The Fujifilm FinePix J150w, the camera I use,has a compact body whose front panel holds a useful 5x optical zoom lens offering a 28mm-equivalent wide angle, and a 140mm-equivalent telephoto. Behind this lens sits a 1/2.3" CCD image sensor with ten megapixel resolution. A large 3.0" LCD display with 230,000 dots of resolution. ISO sensitivity ranges up to a maximum of ISO 1,600 equivalent at full resolution (3,200 max at a reduced three megapixel resolution).
As well as being linked to the autofocus and autoexposure systems, the Fujifilm J150w's face detection function includes automatic post-exposure red-eye removal. Shutter speeds range from 8 seconds to 1/2000 second, and apertures from F3.3 - F5.2 at wide angle, or F5.1 - F8.0 at telephoto. These are all controlled automatically, with thirteen scene modes offering the J150w owner's main method of controlling the look of images. The Fujifilm FinePix J150w stores its images on SD or SDHC cards or in 24MB of built-in memory. Power comes from an NP-45 Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.

Pentax 6x7
Pentax 6x7 was the camera Diane Arbus lusted after. She said that she feels using the 6x7 with its eye-level finder and large negative size will be the best of both worlds, a medium format Nikon, allowing her to make pictures more narrative and temporal, less fixed and single and complete and isolated. This statement leads me to think that perhaps the whole square thing, almost an Arbus trademark, had something to do with this. using a TLR in order to use medium format film and get a larger negative, the square only being a secondary result as an aesthetic tool.
